Explain how the results are possible

Problem: Most tigers have an orange coat, but in 1951 in India, hunters found a rare, white tiger cub in the jungle. The cub was lured into a cage and brought to the palace, and was named Mohan. Mohan later mated in captivity with an orange female, named Begum. The pair produced ten offspring. To everyone's surprise, all offspring had orange-colored coats. Mohan was later kept in a cage with one of his daughters. The pair produced five white females, two orange females, and one orange male. Explain how these results are possible.
