Pick out a health problem that you care about and where health disparities are observed between groups. Explain what the health disparity is and what group is affected. (i) Explain how health disparities might be arising. Try to explain why there are different groups on different parts of the cliff (are there individual, community, cultural, social, health care institution, or structural reasons for this health disparity?). Do attempt to explain beyond the individual level-to describe one or two social or structural determinants of health that may help to explain how this health disparity is arising. (ii) Search the web about this topic and try to explain how intervening at a particular level (individual, community, cultural, social or structural level) may help to resolve the issue. Do also attempt to explain one or two health services changes that may help to resolve this issue.
