Explain for the failure using fracture mechanics

A ceramic bidet failed catastrophically in normal use, causing serious lacerations to the person concerned. The facture initiated at a pre-existing through thickness crack of length 2a = 20 mm located at a circular flush hole. Stain gauge tests on an identical bidet gave live load stress = 0.4 to 1.0 MNm-2 (tensile) and residual stress (from shrinkage during manufacture) = 4 MNm-2 (tensile). Specimen tests gave Kc= 1.3 MNm-3/2. Assuming that the hole introduces a local stress concentration factor of 3, account for the failure using fracture mechanics.
