Making Internships Work
Internships have the potential to be a win-win situation for both the student intern and the employer. However, not all internships are good situations for either party. Some basic guidelines for the employer can help: 1) Finding a specific project for the student is more challenging for the student and a better predictor for the company; 2) Challenging assignments are best; 3) Competitive wages help attract and impress talent; 4) Treat the intern like a new employee; 5) interview several candidates and use a broad internship description to increase the chances of finding a talented person.
Question: Explain at least two reasons why a student might not be interested in an internship.
