Explain about the term fiber optic medical endoscopy.
Fiber Optic Medical Endoscopy:
Examination of the body's interior by an apparatus inserted in a natural opening or an incision, generally as an outpatient procedure. Endoscopes involve the upper gastrointestinal endoscope like for the esophagus, duodenum and stomach, the colonoscope as for the colon and the bronchoscope like the bronchial tubes. Along with fibre optics, much more maneuverable instruments can reach once inaccessible sites, whereas causing much less discomfort. Attachments can capture tissue samples, small tumours and excise polyps and take away foreign objects.
