Explain about the MINI COMPUTER
Minicomputers are much smaller in size than mainframe computers and they are also less expensive. The cost of these computers can differ from a few thousand dollars to several hundred thousand dollars. They have most of the features found on mainframe computers, but on more limited scale. They can still have many terminals, but not as many as that of the mainframes. They can store a tremendous amount of information, but again not as much as the mainframe. Medium and small businesses use these computers. So
- Fit somewhere between PCs and mainframe
- Would frequently be used for file servers in networks
