Assignment:
Last Thursday we heard in class "La Primavera" from the "Four Seasons" by Vivaldi. When discussing about the musical elements in the piece we mentioned the fact that this piece is an example of what is known as "program music", that is music to follow a narrative.
Your task for this assignment is to create your own narrative, and select classical music pieces which you feel match the narrative. Thus you are to record what you do at 4 different times throughout the day, say at 10:00 am, 2:00 pm, 7:00 pm, and 10:00 pm. See what specific stuff you can recall, perhaps you can write down a short line when going through moment in time you like to choose, so that you can remember either your mood at said moment, or what happened, or anything else you may want to tell, and choose a piece to serve as your own "program music" to accompany the moment.
You must then write a paragraph about what did go on at the four different times you chose to "narrate" and give an explanation to what is in the piece you chose to accompany the moment (your program music) such as the mood of the piece, maybe the particular instrumentation, or the tempo (speed), or the dynamics (volume), or the melody. So one paragraph to describe the moment, once piece per "moment" with a paragraph giving reasons for choosing the piece.
You must also include a youtube video link to chosen pieces. Remember, the pieces must be classical music.
