Applied Ethics in Criminal Justice Management
This course covers applied ethical theories against the backdrop of criminal justice policy, action, and management, and employee decision making. Accepted standards applicable to criminal justice organizations and professionals are used to examine such topics as ethical systems; social change; values and norms; cultural diversity; use of force; use of discretion; corruption and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to apply ethical considerations to the decision-making process, and recommend management responses to organizational ethical dilemmas and individual ethical lapses.

Assessment:
• The student will write a ten-page APA research paper on an instructor approved topic that addresses major and course competencies.
Research Paper
Assignment: Submit a 10-page APA-styled Research Paper on the topic: Ethics in Criminal Justice Management. The paper will interpret applied ethical theories in a contemporary, criminal justice organization. Examine the concept of the noble-cause corruption and how it impacts ethical decision making. A complete paper will analyze ethical leadership methodology. Resources may include your text book along with other books, articles, or journals. You must have a minimum of four (4) resources.
