Homework: Mission, Vision, and You
Purpose of Homework
The homework allows students to explore a company that they are familiar with and relate this to their own experiences to determine the importance of the mission and vision of a business as well as the influence this may have on their own role. The homework will also allow the student to explore the effects of a company not having a mission statement.
Task
Choose a company that has both a mission and vision statement. This should not be the same company you will choose for the homework.
Prepare a minimum 700 words summary in which you address the following:
i. Identify the company's mission statement.
ii. Identify the company's vision statement.
iii. Explain what role these have on the way the business operates. Evaluate whether the company's actions seem to align to their vision and mission statements.
iv. Examine how the mission and vision of the organization might affect or guide you as an employee or manager in the company.
v. Analyze what you think would be the effect if the company did not have a mission statement.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
