Problem:
The making of a policy involves multiple intersection of influences, this includes evidence-based decision makers ethical considerations, team building with coalitions and evaluation, this also includes stakeholder engagement and participation. Ethics weighs the potential benefits and harms of various policy options, considering principles such as beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, and autonomy. Evidence based involves the utilization of best available information from researchers, evaluating existing policies and other expert stakeholder opinions as well as effectiveness, feasibility, and unintended consequences of potential policy interventions and to achieve desired public health outcomes. Stakeholder engagement and advocacy involves government agencies, non-profit organizations, advocacy groups, healthcare providers, community leaders, and affected populations and stakeholders. This group's engagement opens the door and allows diverse stakeholders to collaborate, leverage resources, and amplify their collective voice to influence decision-makers and this will increase the legitimacy and acceptance of policies. Advocacy involves improving health outcomes and addressing health disparities in diverse populations. Advocacy efforts also include advocating for legislation to increase access to healthcare, implementing PH interventions to prevent disease, promoting healthy behaviors, or addressing social determinants of health such as poverty, education, and housing.
