Learning Outcomes
1. Address the increasing demand for privacy and security, and the changing application of security functions;
2. Provide knowledge of standards and techniques to be implemented in the control of information systems security;
3. Provide an appreciation of security management functions
You are required to undertake a preliminary investigation on the development, application, and implementation of tools and techniques for conducting a trail using smart technology products, an app, that will promote an improvement of security aware consciousness of an academic organisation's staff and students. A successful trial will lead to a permanent program for improving a security conscious aware environment.
While not part of the assessment for this Unit, students that choose to take the additional challenge and submit an app will have their submission evaluated by the Curtin Information Technology Services (CITS) Director, IT Planning & Governance. For further information, please contact Colin.
Evaluation of the intended trail will be crucial for determining whether a full program should be implemented across the whole of the organisation. As the adoption of smart technologies in such an intended program will provide new data it is imperative that the provision of a system incorporating envisioned program components is fully explained.
You are required to submit a formal business report explaining your investigation discoveries and proposed management solution. Your reported appraisal should include basic analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats); policy considerations; software tools; certifications; techniques; and methods.
