Literature review summarizes and evaluates a body of writings about a specific topic. The need to conduct such reviews is by no means limited to graduate students; scholarly researchers generally carry out literature reviews throughout their research careers.
Use the literature to explain your research. The literature review should be a critical analysis of the published body of knowledge (the literature) supporting your research question, through summary, classification, and comparison of prior research studies, reviews of literature, and theoretical articles.

· Identify, describe, and evaluate the research/studies that support your research problem, research question(s), and the significance of your research.
· Describe and evaluate the research/studies that present the theoretical framework used to select your variables (quantitative) or the focus for the research (qualitative) to guide the analysis and interpretation of the data collection in your research.
· Synthesize and evaluate research/studies that support your selection of methodology and approach
