Assignment:
In this assignment, you will distinguish the juvenile justice systems in other nations from the system used in the United States. In doing so, you will need to identify at least three other nations to make your comparison. Once you have made your selection, address the following for each nation:
- Explain the connection between basic religious tenets and the philosophy of juvenile justice.
- Examine the origin of the idea for the age of accountability in these nations. You may identify a culture or religious belief within the nation to assist you to distinguish between them.
- Evaluate criminal justice strategies, policies, and procedures in each nation to determine best practices for the U.S. juvenile justice system.
Use the assignment template to differentiate between four different nations' juvenile justice systems (including the United States). Be sure to delete the example countries and replace them with your own choices in the template. Once the comparisons are made, write your thoughts on what you believe to be best practices for the future of our juvenile justice system in the United States. What can we learn from other nations and cultures? What data supports your position?
