If probability of having a patient having both diseases is 1/500, find out the probability that the next patient admitted will have either a heart or pulmonary disease or both? Are the events of admission of patients with heart diseases or pulmonary diseases independent of one another? Why?
2. Side effects from drug A are known to happens in 10% of all patients who take it. A nurse practitioner has two patients who are taking drug A. Find out the probability that both experience side effects from the drug?
3. Describe what is meant by conditional probability. Give a clinical example to support your explanation.
