1) A 600 gallon tank originally has 300 gallons of water with 4 ounces of the contaminate dissolved in it. Contaminated water with the concentration of 6 ounces/gal flows into tank at the rate of 2 gal/hour and well mixed solution flows out at the rate of 7 gal/hour. This will continue 20 hours and at this point concentration of contaminated water is decreased to three ounces/gal and flow rate in increases to 4 gal/hour and well mixed solution exits tank at the reduced rate of 2 gal/hr. At what time will amount of contaminate reach 300 ounces?
2) Using above situation. Once contaminate reaches 300 ounces outflow is increased to 4 gal/hr and other quantities remain same. Estabilish IVP which will give amount of contaminate in tank for the new time frame.
