Escher style tessellation
Select any polygon that tessellates.
• Alter the polygon extensively, using one or more of the techniques learnt in Topic 11, to create an Escher style living creature that will tessellate the plane.
• Show each step in detail, with clearly labelled diagrams. Your final altered shape should show a reasonable degree of complexity.
• Prepare the final tessellation. Cover enough area to show how your shape would tessellate an infinite plane. Use suitable colour and drawing detail to improve your creature and create an aesthetically pleasing tessellation. Your final tessellation will be constructed ‘by hand' or electronically.
