Essay on uniform tax
There is an on-going debate in the American Political System as to how our government will add dollars to create jobs for an overall unemployment rate of 9%.
The tax system in The United States benefits the the rich and continues to increase the divide between the upper and lower middle classes. One possible solution is to legislate a uniform tax system where all tax payers pay the same percentage of taxes of their yearly income. For example; If a tax payer were to pay 25% of their annual income, it would look like this - Someone making $50,000 a year would pay $12,500 and someone earning $10 million dollars a year would pay $2.5 million dollars in taxes. Currently, the average small business (employing up to100 employees) with profits as low as 1 to 2 million dollars pays 35-39% yearly taxes. These small business owners support families, including paying for their workers health insurance.
