When someone is talking about HIV to beginning biology students it’s sometimes simpler to state that reverse transcriptase is unique to HIV. While it is true that I am (optimistically) not presently expressing a human reverse transcriptase, I am, alas, not telling them the complete truth.
Q1. What enzymatic activity does a reverse transcriptase taken out?
Q2. Illustrate the name of the human reverse transcriptase?
Q3. Where on chromosomes does it function?
Q4. Why is it required?
Q5. Why am I hoping I’m not presently expressing it?
