Discuss the below in detail:
Environmental Racism in the United States
The issue of racial profiling and the associated stereotypical depictions goes beyond mere the senseless acts and police brutality that has been captured the national and international spotlight. Race has also influenced largely formulation of environmental policies as they relate to zoning, regulations and land use (Zimring, 2017). For instance, the Latinos, African Americans as well as other low-income minority groups are more likely to reside near a coal-fired power plant as compared to their white counterparts. In fact, a vast majority of the dumping sites are found in the zones occupied by African Americans (Taylor, 2014). I feel strongly about this issue because of the serious health implications associated with these unjust practices and the diminished response capacity to resist and fight back against such jeopardizing policies by the minority groups.
