Questions:
QUESTION 1: Environmental Regulations - Last year, the UAE government took drastic steps to show its commitment towards regulating the environment through Intended Nationally Determined Indicators (INDCs or NDCs) set out by the United Nations.
Part 1: Describe at least 3 steps the UAE took to address sustainable development and describe how these steps will help to meet the NDCs.
Part 2: Name the NDC goal(s) that addresses climate change and describe the targets the UAE set for the goal(s).
QUESTION 2: COP22 - COP22 (and COP21) was an opportunity for countries to join their partners, yet for some regions, like the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC), this may also be a challenge considering that fossil fuels form the backbone of their economy. Explain the opportunities and challenges for the UAE, based on the policy brief you completed this semester.
QUESTION 3: Water and/or Water Pollution - What is your assessment of the present situation of water resources and water pollution in the UAE - should we be worried and why? What records can you describe to convince policymakers?
QUESTION 4: Tools for protecting the environment - Compare Waste Management Policy for the UAE and another country of your choice. Describe their policy activities around waste management and describe any differences and/or similarities.
