Problem:

1. The authors state that more often than not individuals think about a moral situation briefly, and then go with their instincts. Do you agree with this characterization of moral judgment? What evidence can you provide to support your position?
2. The concept of servant leadership presented in Chapter states that leaders should seek first to serve their followers, and by doing so, they become great leaders. Evaluate this idea. Is it something that would work in the United States?
3. One of the ways to make judgments about the ethical impacts of technology is to employ prevailing norms of acceptability in determining what is fair and to avoid harm. Provide a critique of using this criterion.
4. The three models of ethical management (immoral, moral, and amoral) provide only one "good" example--that of moral management. However, some people imply that immoral and amoral management are prevalent in our society, while moral management is practiced less. Which is the bigger problem in our society, immoral or amoral management?
5. Industrial policy sometimes allows, or requires, government financial assistance to certain industries (e.g., the airline industry or the railroad industry). In addition to industry-wide assistance, the government has on occasion provided bailouts for individual firms. Is bailing out a specific company an appropriate use of government regulation?
