Problem: Harper and Leicht list seven items as important elements of human programs related to globalization and development. They are:
- Free and open economic markets, but lower income inequality
- Democracy and guarantees of human rights for all persons
- Effective legal systems, and internal stability and security
- Widespread literacy and good public education at all levels
- Effective social programs and safety nets for human hardship
- Attention to family planning and environmental problems
- Effective but limited government planning systems
Select one or two of the above which you feel are a priority. Select an under-developed country and apply the presence or absence of these elements to your discussion of that country's development.
