3) Indications of ECT
Treatment of ECT depends upon condition of patient, availability or non- availability of drugs. However, some of the common condition in which ECT treatment is given are:
- Major depression.
- Involutional Melancholia.
- Post-partum psychosis.
- Catatonic Schizophrenia.
- Suicidal thoughts and suicidal attempts.
- Manic patient who is exhausted.
