He furnished only one section's pantry with lounge chairs and sofas and tracked that sections toy production output at the end of each shift. After more than a month, Edwin noticed this section did not produce more toys than before, while the other sections' output quantity largely remained the same as before too. Upon further investigation, he discovered that workers tend not to take breaks in the pantry even though they can, because workers feared they would be perceived as lazy and unproductive if they were seen in the pantry too often.
