Determine the pipe length, the required water volumetric flow rate, and the pressure drop if the element is located inside a 15-cmID pipe. Give the hot-water delivery rate of a typical domestic hot-water heater, determine how many such pipes would be needed, and how they could be arranged and electrically connected. Make a rough cost estimate, and decide whether the pressure drop is reasonable. Finally, compare the results with those from the design using a simple circular cross-section heater element shown in Fig. 2.7(a).
