Assignment task: The state that I chose is Michigan's state health plan. The topic that the Michigan Health Department discusses in this reading is the subject of obesity. The Michigan Department of Health attempted to address the subject of obesity by encouraging more activities for school-aged children and advertising the need for activity through public forums. They involve the allied healthcare professional by getting healthcare workers to monitor obesity rates in patients and encourage activity and solutions to weight loss.
The plan does well in educating the community on the risks of obesity. They do well in involving the public health communities. The problem I see is that there was not enough involvement in the community and a lack of importance placed on the involvement of a physician or health care professional.
