Please note:
the submission should have a computer-generated word count, include all of the five media communication tools and be free of any errors in spelling, grammar or referencing. By submitting the assessment online, students take responsibility for the originality of their work and accept the penalties for academic misconduct. Each submission is strictly limited to 3,000 words.
Description of Task
Each student will develop a comprehensive media portfolio for a professional sport organisation based on a number of media communication tools (media release, fact sheet, media advisory, media plan and media guide) discussed in the textbook, lectures and tutorials.
Each student has been assigned the task as Media Manager for the Australian team and will develop a portfolio for the media in the lead - up to one of the following international sport events:
- The 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup to be hosted by England and Wales.
The first ICC Cricket World Cup took place in 1975 in England and was won by the West Indies, while the most recent tournament took place in 2015 and co-host Australia defeated New Zealand in the final.
- The 2015 Netball World Cup to be held in Sydney, Australia.
Formerly known as the World Net ball Championships, the event was first held in 1963 and has traditionally been dominated by the Australian Net ball Diamonds and the New Zealand Silver Ferns national teams.
- The 2019 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup Finalsto be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The AFC Asian Cup is the second oldest confederation football championship behind South America's Copa América and the tournament winner automatically goes on to represent Asia in the FIFA Confederations Cup. Australia left the Oceania Football Confederation almost a decade ago to join the AFC and in only their third appearance,the Socceroos Won the 2015 Asian Cup.
