Team Presentation of Project Proposal
Here's what is expected for the projectproposal presentation:
1. The presentation should be between 10 and 15 minutes.
2. Each member of the team needs to talk some during the presentation. How you divide up the speaking responsibilities is up to the team.
3. Use some type of presentation software such as PowerPoint. If you use anything other than PowerPoint be sure that you'll have access to the software while performing your presentation.
4. Consider this a formal presentation. This means that your presentation should be nice looking with correct spelling. (PowerPoint slides don't need to have full sentences but they should be accurate including spelling.) Note: You don't need to dress formally. Jeans and T-shirts are okay.
5. Present the information as if you're justifying the project to executives within the organization that will decide whether to approve the project.
6. Your presentation should have a title slide that has the team name, team members and a project name.
7. After the title slide, your presentation should cover the information in your project with a little more detail. (Don't go into detail about how the tasks will be carried out but rather focus on the value and benefits the project will bring to the organization.)
8. Your presentation should address the technical, organizational and economic feasibility of your project.
• Technical Feasibility: Discuss whether the technology required is available or will it need to be obtained. If the technology must be obtained, discuss how it will be obtained.
• Organizational Feasibility: Discuss whether the project is feasible from an organizational point of view. Does the organization have the human resources (skilled people), office space and capability to maintain any product produced by the project?
• Economic Feasibility: Discuss the business value in comparison to the estimated cost. The executives listening to the presentation will want justification that the organization can afford the project and that the project will be worth somehow. For example the project may increase the revenue generated by the organization, it may improve employ productivity in such a way that justifies the cost, or it may provide the organization with important knowledge that solves a problem or issue.
