We have gone to meet with the technical directors, to have a clear knowledge on their reasons of why they are interested in integrating High quality video conference and VoIP into their existing networks. We are also interested in understanding the organisational structure of the company so we can be able to understand design and recommend solutions that will help improve their overall business goals.
After we have carried out a comprehensive enquiring and investigation, the technical directors indicate that, while increase revenue and profit is one the reasons of the project, however they highlighted that, reducing waiting time for patients that doesn't not required surgery and other critical medical needs was there top priority. They also want to be able to resolve issue with some of their discharge patients without the need to come down to medical centres and to be able to hold meetings within the three branches without extra cost such as travel expenses.
Although while these were there main reasons of wanted to implement High quality video conference and VoIP, they add, that implementing their main requirement, they expect to achieve the following.
- They want to increase their market share in the United Kingdom through High quality video conference and VoIP.
They want to reduce cost as much as possible while increasing employee productivity, improving patient's services in area of relationships.
Since the business is dealing with sensitive patients information that can be detrimental to their operation in area of business continuity when they are compromise, the technical directors want their network to be resilient to security threats. In addition to their business goals, they also provide us with the organisational structure; this can be seen in table 1.
- They want their network to be fault tolerance to logical and physical network problems for example a failure of a switch should not disrupt the business daily activities.
They want the finance department to be isolated from other network traffic broadcast.
