During the design process of a knee implant it is proposed

During the design process of a knee implant, it is proposed to look into the effect of two variables: (a) the material to be used as a tibial insert and (b) the radius ratio (R-Femoral condyle radius/ R-tibial insert radius) of the implant on the failure of the implant. Two failure considerations are used, namely (i) yield of the material and (ii) shear failure of the material-Femoral condyle radius is 15 mm and the femoral component is made out of CoCr. Variables to be considered for the design are: (A) Geometry-- Flat tibial surface or radius ratio between femoral component and tibial insert = 0.9 (B) Material --- Tibial insert is made of CoCr, UHMWPE, Ceramic and TNTZ (Elastic Modulus= 70 GPa and Yield Strength =600 MPa) What is your recommended design parameters and why? Clearly state your assumptions.
