Assignment Task: Drawing a theme from a story is sometimes difficult; however, looking closely at the conflict in the story is usually a key to unlocking one or more themes.
From this week's readings, choose one of the stories and discuss a theme from that story. You might discuss how the theme is played out in the story, how it might be relevant today, etc.
Remember: "analyze" (think critically) and to use pertinent details to support your assertions. Begin by identifying/stating the theme is a complete sentence (see glossary).
Stories of the week include: Stephen Crane: "The Open Boat" / Maggie: Girl of the Streets F. Scott Fitzgerald: "Babylon Revisited"
