Project- Draw an Object in 2D
Format: CAD File (.dwg) and PDF, uploaded to D2L before the beginning of class, with the title block filled out (this means your PDF should be of the page layout, with 3 viewports, each displaying 1 view of your object), 36x24 Black & White PDF page, all viewports of matching scale.
Select an item (from the list, or something that you are interested in drawing) get the object approved by the instructor or TA and then draw three standard views (top, front and side) of that object. The object can be an original design or a drawing of an actual object.
Suggested items:
Chair
Watch
Mode of Transportation (i.e.: Plane, Train, or Automobile)
Accuracy
(the three views must match, meaning that they all represent the same object in size and detail, LABEL EACH VIEW and note the scale)
Clarity
(dimension and note the object sufficiently so there's no question regarding its size, or the sizes of its parts, don't dimension every part, just enough so that we have an idea of its overall size, minimum 2/view)
Recommendation: use temporary construction lines (perhaps on a non-printable layer) to line up the object and its parts in the three views.
