Discussion Post: Lobbying Efforts
• Students will organize and/or participate in a lobbying effort to promote the enactment and/or implementation of a social policy.
• Students will contact and schedule interview (via phone or Zoom) to elected officials and present their views on social policy issues.
• Students will track activities and prepare a Virtual scrapbook/ Power Point of their lobbying efforts. Student will collect newspaper articles, meeting agendas, programs, notes, pictures, etc. to be placed in the scrapbook.
• Students will draft a letter to send to local, state or national newspapers or hometown papers, such as the Greenwood Commonwealth, or Clarion Ledger, on a social policy related issue discussing the implication of this policy on rural areas. This information should be included in the scrapbook.
The response should include a reference list. Using one-inch margins, Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space and APA style of writing and citations.
