Problem:
It can be hard to get established in any new position. As a new case manager, the first thing I would do to develop a network of services would be to go from place to place inquiring about the services they offer. I would go to the local health department, shelters, food banks, even churches. This will help me figure out what services I can provide to my client through other service professionals when I don't have the resources to provide myself. I would also hand out business cards. Word of mouth goes far, and this way they will have the information to contact me if they ever needed services that they can't provide. For example, my church has a program called Sober City. It is kind of like AA, but it is for those who are addicted to drugs or other stuff as well. This would be a great service to introduce others to when they need help getting sober.
