Problem
The function of the amygdala is important towards understanding the body's stress response. The amygdala was designed to deal with emergencies that could be resolved relatively quickly. Our ancestors either escaped a threat, such as a predator, or they did not. Worrying about future threats is a luxury that human beings did not have until quite recently. That is to say, people no longer have to worry about being attack by a lion instead people now worry about things that are not life threatening, e.g., taking an exam. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Explain your reasoning. Does worrying about things that have not happened effect a person's mental and/or physical health in a negative way?
