Problem
We have discussed a tension involving how female sexuality is portrayed and discussed in the mass media and the relationship between those portrayals and feminism. Does female sexuality in media ultimately help reinforce hegemony of gender, or does it actually challenge that hegemony? Or is this an unfair question, because different portrayals can be seen as feminist in some senses and hegemonic in others?
