Document Delivery Services
Document delivery is considered as one of the important elements of providing access to information. It involves the integration of document discovery, the location of a supplier, request and delivery.
Document delivery is a complex process, which spans time and distance between customer and supplier. It takes many forms. For example, it may involve documents in a variety of forms and involves a number of intermediaries. In other words, document delivery involves authors, publishers, subscription agents, document delivery services, book suppliers and librarians. Since information is generated in different formats, and their production involves different agencies, it is but natural that there are many options for document delivery. Many of these agencies may be involved in both electronic and print-based document delivery. Librarians, publishers and other document delivery services are concerned with the complexities of document delivery in an environment in which conventional document delivery is coupled with electronic document delivery.
