Problem
Watch the video entitled "Grit: The power of passion and perseverance" by research, professor, and New York Times bestselling author, Dr. Angela Duckworth.
After watching the video, take the "Grit Scale " inventory.
Finally, answer the following questions:
• Dr. Duckworth defines grit as passion (being singularly obsessed) plus perseverance (always trying to improve). By this definition, do you think you have the marks of grit? Why or why not? After taking the "Grit Scale" inventory, what was your score? Did your "grit level" surprise you? Why or Why Not?
• Dr. Duckworth admits that many people already have a gut sense of their grit level. Two signs that there is room to grow in grit are (i) if you feel like your work isn't imbued with purpose or (ii) if you give up easy when things gets hard. Do either of these signs describe you? Where does your gut say you need to grow in grit?
