Problem
The Grim Sleeper was a serial killer in the Los Angeles area. He was not a very well-known serial killer. He would kill prostitutes and go a long time between murders. He was captured as a result of law enforcement collecting familial DNA. Websites that allow for the submission of DNA has become an effective tool for law enforcement. Only a handful of states permit the use of familial DNA as a means for identifying a perpetrator. Do you think the use of familial DNA for criminal investigations is a violation of constitutional rights? Why or why not?
