For me growing up, gender identity was determined by your genitalia, and will still be determined by those genitals as long God lends me breath no matter what society says because whether or not they wish to call x or y they were either born a girl or a boy, and they both have different roles and these different roles are confused in their given roles by whom they choose to be and not whom they were born to be.
According to (Britannica) gender identity, an individual's self-conception as a man or woman or as a boy or a girl or as some combination of man/boy and woman/girl or as someone fluctuating between man/boy and woman/girl or someone outside those categories altogether. It is distinguished from actual biological sex- i-e., male or female. For most persons, gender identity and biological sex correspond conventionally. Some individuals, however, experience little or no connection between sex and gender; among transgender persons.
And because many of us are from the old school, we will definitely have a problem with current social institutions because each gender is supposed to have its facilities and different roles.
Do you think that gender role is important in today's society?
