Murder weapons. The 2008 Statistical Abstract of the United States reports FBI data on murders for 2005. In that year, 50.5% of all murders were committed with handguns, 17.3% with other firearms, 12.8% with knives, 6.0% with a part of the body (usually the hands or feet), and 4.1% with blunt objects.
