Vision is the foundation onto which we build our organizations. The importance of the vision has is sometimes not well understood. A well defined and clearly articulated vision provides a direction and focus. Once this is defined, everyone, needs to buy-in. A vision statement is a simple articulation of the organization's long and short-term goals. These goals should be in simple language, understandable, credible, and customer-focused in nature. Simplicity is important as it allows associates to all work towards a common set of goals. A shared vision is a picture of the future that people share. This is not only distributed to the organization, people must buy-in and believe in it.
