(Additives in Food, Food Irradiation and Genetically Modified Food) & p. 218-13th ed. (Additives in Food and Food Biotechnology) and the article: "Chemical Cuisine Learn about Food Additives" by the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

4. Check out the entire article (all listed substances) and descriptions, then go to your pantry/refrigerator or review items at the grocery store. Find two food additives to discuss that are currently present in the foods you consume (and listed in the category of: cut back; caution; certain people should avoid; avoid). Defend whether you agree or disagree with adding the substance to food and why. Do your findings change your attitude about purchasing the product?
