Assignment:
With the shortage of first responders and non-profit groups (like the Red Cross and Salvation Army) to meet major disasters like Hurricanes Katrina & Laura and North LA historic flooding in 2015 & 2016, along with the COVID-19 pandemic, some have once again asked "is there a need for some form of "LA or TX state first responder/volunteer organization service"? Do you feel Louisiana should initiate a limited public service policy that 18-24 years old men and woman should serve in the police reserves, volunteer fire departments or a non-profit group like the "Cajun Navy" for at least two years? Would granting free college tuition for the time served in these volunteer non-paid first and second responder organizations help?
