1. Do you agree with Socrates's harm principle? Why do you agree or disagree with him?
2. Can you think of examples from your own life or experience where it looks like someone is deliberately doing harm for harm's sake? In this example, do you think they really are doing harm for harm's sake, or not? Explain your reasoning.
3. Why might Socrates believe that harm to one's character is more significant than even death? (I'm asking you to speculate here. You don't need to look up Socrates's actual reasons. Try to pretend you are Socrates and see if you can come up with reasons for why he might believe this. This is an exercise in imagination, not a report on Socrates.)
