Assignment task: A literary analysis of approximately 500 words responding to the questions below with reference to the short stories, "Dead Men's Path," and "The Story of an Hour."
1. With the types of endings found in these stories, they have to have seeds planted earlier. According to the journal, Electric Lit, this can be through a floorboard creaking, a character who leaves but comes back, even a memory. Find the seed of the ending in each of the two stories and discuss.
2. Were the endings a) surprising b) inevitable and/or c) satisfying? Please discuss all.
3. Do the endings resolve the main conflict that was set up in the beginning? Why or why not?
