Problem: Court cases can lead to changes in the law on a much wider scale too. This case led to a phase out of field burning (along with public complaints over a long time and air quality concerns). Do you think that this case could have also led to the Right to Farm Law? Note that this case was decided in 1992 (and affirmed by the Oregon Supreme Court). The Right to Farm Law was passed in 1993 and would be a defense against the impacts of "normal farming activities" now, but it was not available as a defense at the time of this case.
