Distinguish between argumentation and persuasion

Problem 1: Explain the difference between argumentation and persuasion. Had you considered this difference before? Now that you know of the difference, do you see more argumentation or persuasion in the news?

Problem 2: Although fake news, persuasive language, and the blurring of the line between facts and opinions are all problematic, Anand gives some provocative perspectives on what else might be wrong with our news media in the article, "The US Media's Problems..." Choose three things you found interesting from the article and explain why you thought they were interesting--were these new ideas to you? Have you seen these things at work in the news sources you read or the people you talk to? How are these things connected to the media biases, logical fallacies?

Problem 3: Having read about media biases and logical fallacies, give a definition of each term listed below.

Problem 4: Then, choose two of the media biases and two of the logical fallacies. Provide examples of the four you chose in current news stories. (It may help to locate sources that are identified on allsides.com or adfontesmedia.com as particularly biased so that you're not looking for bias or fallacies where there are none.)
