The goal of this project is to to research independent variables of hockey players in the NHL and seek to discover the average number of goals scored per season (Dependent Variable). The independent variables are Height- weak positive linear, Weight-weak positive linear, Time on ice- moderate positive linear, Shots on goal-strong positive linear, Plus-Minus- strong positive linear, Penalty Minutes- strong negative linear, and Salary- strong positive linear.
.)Display the model for the first multiple regression equation
.)Check for multicollinearity. Calculate the VIF for each independent variable. If multicollinearity exists, state why and remove variables one at a time if necessary. Recalculate the VIF of every independent variable each time you take a variable out.
.)Test the overall significance of the regression model using .05 level of significance. Comment on the results. State what the results mean.
.)Test the individual coefficients at the .05 level of significance and comment on the results. State the conclusion.
.)What is the standard error of the model? Does it seem too large? Comment, but don't attempt a remedy.
.)Review numbers 3 and 4, and remove any variables that are not significant. If a variable is removed as a result of the review, repeat numbers 3 through 5 and comment on any changes.
