Traditional Islamic art has a style of its own, shaped by the beliefs of Islam. Although the artwork varies by its location, century created, branch of Islam, and materials used, several common themes can be found. Examine these two pieces of artwork. The one on the left is plasterwork from fourteenth-century Spain. The other is part of a marble tomb from seventeenth-century India. Discuss the following questions.
